The Big Event is the University of Nebraska’s way to give back to the City of Lincoln. One Big Day. One Big Thanks. For one morning every year, over 2,500 students come together to make a big impact on the community. Volunteers complete various tasks including painting, landscaping, arts and crafts, and spring cleaning.
Students can volunteer with friends, as part of a student organization or individually. The Big Event is a great experience and opportunity to come together as a club or to give back with your friends.
Volunteers are fed breakfast and lunch donated by generous sponsors of the Event. Each volunteer also gets a t-shirt to commemorate the experience and thank them for their support of the city of Lincoln.
