If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? I would have to say tacos. You can put almost anything on them, they have the right balance of savory and spicy, and I can't help smiling when I think about eating tacos.
What is your favorite animal and why? My favorite animal is an otter. Otters, I believe, represent me, because they are energetic and fun-loving spirits, and love the company of family and friends, much like myself. Plus they are cute, so how can you not like them?
Why did you join TBE Exec?

I joined TBE Exec because I wanted to put my stamp on an organization that I feel a special connection with. Being the Recruitment chair, I personally feel it my duty to express the same level of love and passion that I have for volunteering and offering service for others to the students and staff at UNL. I wanted to also help build The Big Event into an even BIGGER event by recruiting the most volunteers it has seen thus far--essentially I joined because I wanted The Big Event to one day be included on a basic list of "10 Coolest Things About UNL" sometime in the future.

Why are you passionate about TBE?

I can't express to you the amount of personal joy and warmth I feel when I am able to give back to a community and provide services to those who simply can't do it themselves. When I was younger, my parents emphasized the ideal of always being myself and "killing others with kindness," a mantra that I have carried my entire life. The Big Event, in my eyes, was a personification of pure kindness and service that I felt completely drawn to. The Big Event, for me, is more than just a day of service that kids can just nonchalantly sign up for. The Big Event represents the spirit of service and hospitality that all of Nebraska is known for, and being involved with this event has allowed me to not only love being that source of help for those in need, but it has allowed me to appreciate my fellow students and university even more. My college career would not have been the same without The Big Event, and it is my utmost hope that my passion for this event can translate to future volunteers and exec team members, so that this event can grow even bigger than it has.
